The Healing Gnome

Gnome Chompski becomes a campaign companion in this new mutation. You and the other survivor’s health is at stake as you start the campaign with +99 bleed out health, and the only thing that will lick your wounds is the cutest little gnome on Earth. You must pass the gnome amongst the survivors to regenerate your health.

Pro tip: Play the Dark Carnival campaign with this mutation. You can get a second gnome during the carnival games map. Just be careful you don’t drop one while running down the rollercoaster!

Also, Valve has opened up the Blood Harvest L4D map for L4D2 players! Brian and I played this, and it was awesome!! (Video below.)

Once upon a time, there was a girl who was a casual gamer. She then met a guy who was a hardcore gamer, turning her into a hardcore gamer as well. This article explains some of the reasons why she chose a gamer guy, and why the thought hadn’t crossed her mind previously.

Just because I am a gamer now, doesn’t mean I didn’t have thoughts about gamers before I became one. I am not someone who has been hardcore gaming for years and years. I casual gamed for a quite a while, and turned into a hardcore gamer about a year ago. I was thinking the other day about what I thought when I saw a guy gaming at an arcade, or playing at a friend’s house, (or wherever) a year ago, as compared to now, and realized my thoughts haven’t really changed…I am not biased because I am a gamer. I am writing this article to let a lot of the shy gamer guys (or really, any gamer guy) know that girls are into you, but there may be a few reasons why they wouldn’t be.

1. The overkill of intelligence is a turn off.
I have one friend who is a “know it all” (or as I like to call him, an “elitist”) about technology, games, you name it. Although he is just my friend, it is a huge turn off when he goes on his rants. By attempting to prove me wrong in every point or subject I bring up, it just makes you look bad.

2. Just stop talking for 2 minutes, and listen.
Whether you are talking to a gamer girl over a game of Black Ops, or the cashier at Gamestop (who aren’t necessarily gamers, by the way), we don’t want to hear about games all the time. Sure, mentioning your interest in a game that’s coming out is cool…but going into details about development and comparing it to other games is not something I may be interested in talking about. Especially when I am trying to get to know you.

3. Your friends are obviously not as cool as you.
If I am talking to you, that does not mean invite me to hang out next weekend with you and your friends. Out of your friends, you may be the most mature. It leaves a girl to wonder why you are hanging out with such idiots who can’t lower their voices.

4. We want to play, too!
A lot of gamers use gaming as “their time” to get away from real life people and life stresses, and to get lost in an online, virtual world. You should reconsider, at least sometimes. Gaming with real life people is a great way to socialize yourself and get you out of your shell, if you are even in one. And girls want to play, so ask them!

5. The whole “gamer nerd” thing is super hot.
Almost all of my gamer guy friends are very shy and would never even dream about confronting a girl. (Meeting my boyfriend was a miracle, and I only met him because I actively pursued him, lol.) Well, if you’re one of those shy guys, I am here to tell you take a chance! My girlfriends and I often talk about the ‘shy, nerdy guys’ and how we wouldn’t mind ‘roughing one up’. So, don’t be scared, just say “hi”!

All in all, continue being a hot nerd, but tone down any attitude or tendencies to talk too much. Everyone reading this knows there are girls out there that like nerdy guys, but what you don’t know is there are more than you think!

To everyone who reads/has read this. I just wanted to say thank you very much for reading this opinion piece. It was just something I thought up while my mind was brewing. I also want to thank all of the commenters, even though 75% were very mean and hateful, it’s ok! No one has to agree with my opinion, just be open-minded enough not to think I’m a total idiot. It’s just an opinion, calm down! I do have a confession, although everything in the article is what I really think, there would be far less “gamer girl” references in the title and in the article if I wasn’t posting it on N4G.
